Hey guys sorry I have not been posting. We are just so busy here and the time change is nutz. However, here are a couple pics of what we have been doin so far and I will update more details later.

to start with. i will be posting a new list of daily passages to read for Feb in a couple days. i do not know if you have been reading the last or not but you should be!! for crying out loud it takes longer to log onto your compuer and get this stupid blog up then read some of the days readings. and i assure no matter how great this blog is (and i know it is pretty mind blowing) you WILL get much more out of reading your Bible. so stop reading my rantings and pick up the Word clowns.
There now that i have certainly offended most of you three people who actually read this page let me open a new window into Tommy Altman's mind. (a very small window obviously)
I am now on TWITTER. yes i said twitter. just search TommyAltman. should be easy enough to remember i think. then we can keep up with each other better.
if you havent figured out yet i am trying to think of ever possible way of keeping contact and updates with all of thos closest to me. which will be very critical when we move to Vegas here shortly.
Well keep checkin in on me and tell ur friends to check it out. krystal and i are going to Vegas in 4 days!!! i will have mad stuff to talk bout then. and i hope to gain enough discipline in the next couple days to be able to post daily starting Feb (but dont hold me to it... there I have posted my exit route in case i flake out)

Well we are sending out our last support letters for Vegas soon. Most of you probably have recieved one. If not and you are interested please let me know (seriously let me know :)) Also if you are willing to forward the info along to your church and if they are interested I would love to talk with them about the church plant. If I forgot you it was not intentional, really it was an oversight on my part for sure. I am speaking at a church here locally on Feb 8th bout Vegas. So if anyone is interested in coming to see it let me know. lol

Still Resolved????
ok first things first.
is your New Year's resolution still going strong or is it gasping for breath as it lies in the dust of everything else that vies for your attention? lol. I would love to be the optimist for you but I would say that its prob already done or at least taking it's last little gulps of air like a fish out of water.
Well in the words of the famous hair colored beard of Billy Mayes "Have I got news for your!!!"
Verve is doing a read through the New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs this year. And I was wondering if you guys would like to do it as well. I would post the daily readings in advance and then we could dialog about what God is showing us. It's a big commitment I know but what would be better then growing closer to God this year?
I mean who couldn't use a little more connection with Him when things are going horrible in life, or when you have to make a big decision in life and need a "quick" answer from Him, or just a bit more strength to get through everyday? Well IF you're willing to commit I will do the work of keeping it updated, but I need some commitments here. So comment back and let me know (and by the way tell your friends about this blog so we can get some feedback here lol).

Here's to 2009!!!
Well looks like another year is done. What did you accomplish this past year? What did I? Were we a part of something of great significance? or did we just survive and exist another year? another 365 days of your/my life is gone what do we have to show for it?
I hope that you have people you can point at and say "they're my legacy for 2008!"
I do, and it makes all the difference! Things and stuff comes and goes but the people we impact during the few years we are here on earth last forever, for eternity!
What will you do with the year to come?
I know what my family and I will do. In no more than 6 months (God willing) we will uproot and move across the United States and replant in a city known to tear families and lives apart, Las Vegas!!
Why, you may ask? Because of those lives that have fallen apart there and feel there is no hope for a way out. There is hope but it takes someone to help us along to find it most of the time. That's what we will be doing.
We will risk it all in the hope to save a few. To save them from needles, sex, pills, bottles, lines of the powder substance of your choosing, whatever addictions or crutches they may be leaning on... essentially save them from themselves, just like we needed someone to save us from ourselves a day not that long ago really.
The bottom line in yes, Jesus does the saving, but we must do the going and bringing them to Him. How will they hear if no one goes? How will they come to know Him if no one ever tell them about His love? the answer is... they probably wouldn't. So we must go. and that's the core of why we are going to the strip in Vegas. Is it crazy? sure, but whatever! I am sure tons of people thought those handful of men and women who said they followed a Savior who had been crucified and raised from the dead were too. What's life without a little crazy in it anyhow? lol
It is our prayer that God will prepare the hearts of those furthest from Him before we go and lead them to be responsive to hearing about His love for them when we find them!
God speed!!!
